SERMON SUMMARY
Have you ever had to make a decision about getting ready for a flood before it started to rain in your life? Have you ever had to make a decision before all the facts were in? You couldn’t see all of the ramifications in advance, but you had to order the lumber now or you would be in over your head later.

Life is a journey. Enjoy the ride.

The question is, what determines whether or not I enjoy the ride? Whether or not we enjoy the ride along life’s journey is determined in large part by the quality and the kind of decisions that we make. It seems that along the journey of life we face forks in the road that confront us with decisions that are more than preferences, more than convenience. Decisions that we know on the front end are labeled obedience or disobedience. Times when we knew the rules, we knew the consequences, and yet despite all of that we decided to disobey. Sometimes as a result as one of those disobedient decisions, our life careens off in a totally unpredictable manner.

When it comes to driving down the road of life, one of the best ways to make better decisions is this, be obedient in faith to what you know God wants you to do.

In this sermon, we will look at the story of Noah and see how he illustrates the kind of obedient faith that will enable us to keep our head above water also.

1. Obedient faith responds before it starts to rain.
2. Obedient faith responds whether anyone else has their umbrella out or not.
3. Obedient faith responds because of where it gets you.

Why should I respond in obedient faith? Because that kind of obedience enables me to have a right relationship with God which is what I need more than anything else in this life.
